History & Overview
Doodh Pathri, which means 'Valley of Milk', is located in the Budgam district of Kashmir. According to local legends, the famous saint Sheikh-ul-Alam once struck the ground with his staff while searching for water. When water emerged, it appeared white like milk, giving the valley its unique name. For many years Doodh Pathri remained relatively unexplored compared to popular destinations such as Gulmarg and Pahalgam. Its untouched landscapes, rolling grasslands and flowing streams have made it one of the most beautiful natural attractions in Kashmir. The valley is surrounded by pine forests and mountains that create a serene atmosphere for visitors. In recent years, Doodh Pathri has become increasingly popular among tourists looking for a peaceful escape away from crowded tourist destinations. The valley is especially beautiful during spring and summer when wildflowers bloom and the meadows turn vibrant green.
